Talk That Transforms with Kim Davis

I have always desired change. Over the years, I have learned that different seasons require different versions of us. We cannot enter every new season thinking, behaving, and responding the same way we did in the last one.

But I have also discovered how difficult it can be to change on your own.

I have often said, “It is hard to stay the same when you are in the presence of God.” I had the boldness to repeat that statement, but for a long time, I was afraid to experience it fully.

A true encounter with God changes you.

It challenges the way you think, reveals the condition of your heart, and confronts the habits you have become comfortable carrying. God’s presence will lovingly show you what can no longer go with you into your next season.

That kind of change can be frightening because it comes with the unknown. You may wonder:

Who will I become?

What will I have to release?

Who will I lose?

Will the people around me accept the person God is shaping me into?

Change can feel uncomfortable because we often want God to give us something new without requiring us to become someone new. But new seasons require new growth, greater faith, and deeper surrender.

Through my own experiences, I have learned that the things you lose while following God often make room for something better. What feels like rejection may be God’s protection. What feels like an ending may be the beginning of a new chapter. What feels like isolation may be an invitation to draw closer to Him.

Not everything you lose is a loss.

Sometimes God removes what is familiar because it is keeping you from what is fruitful. Sometimes He asks you to release what feels safe because He wants to teach you how to trust Him in the unknown.

So, I want you to know this: Change with God is incredible.

It may not always be easy. It may stretch you, expose you, and require you to walk away from things you once thought you needed. But when God is leading the change, you can trust where He is taking you.

Do not allow fear of the unknown to stop you from becoming the person God created you to be. The future may be unfamiliar, but God is already there. What you release into His hands will never be greater than what He can place back into your life.

Step into the change.

Let God transform your heart, renew your mind, and prepare you for what is ahead. You may not recognize the person you are becoming—but one day, you will look back and thank God that He did not allow you to remain the same.
